So, you've taken the leap and decided to dust off your blender and chop up your greens... but your green smoothie doesn't look like the smooth and creamy beverages you've seen all over the internet. Why?
There are more than one reasons for a thin and frothy smoothie. Here are the most likely:
Too Much Liquid
When making a smoothie, try to start with no more than 1 cup of liquid for every 2-3 cups fruit/leaves. If you find that the blend is too thick, then it's okay to add more liquid (in small amounts) until it achieves the desired consistency.
Even when using a high powered blender, it is possible to still produce a frothy smoothie if you don't include a creamy fruit. Some great choices for creamy fruit include: bananas, pawpaw, mango, and (avocado) pear. Including at least 1 cup of creamy fruit should result in a smooth, creamy-textured beverage.
Please try these two tips and let me know the results.
